Class Size: Average 18 students per class
Faculty & Staff: 10 Full-Time Teachers, 4 Part-Time teachers, 1 Libriarian/Student Council Coordinator, 2 Teaching Assistants,
School Schedule: Students in PreKindergarten-5th Grade are taught in a self-contained classroom environment learning from one primary teacher, but rotate for "special classes" including Art, Computer, Library, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish.
Students in grades 6-8 rotate from class to class for all academic subjects and specials.
Where are we from?
Most families enrolled at St. Ambrose School come from a variety of areas in Prince George’s County including Cheverly, Bowie, Mitchellville, Upper Marlboro, Glenn Dale, and Bladensburg.
We are also proud to be supported by two fantastic parishes: St. Joseph Catholic Church in Largo as well as St. Ambrose Catholic Church here in Cheverly.
After St. Ambrose:
St. Ambrose School graduates are extremely well qualified for rigorous high school education. Over 90% of our graduates are accepted into their top choice for private schools. Our graduates have attended high schools such as Gonzaga College, St. John’s College, Bishop McNamara, Elizabeth Seton, DeMatha, St. Vincent Palotti, Georgetown Visitation, Good Counsel, St. Anselm’s, Archbishop Spalding (Archdiocese of Baltimore), Paul VI (Diocese of Arlington) and Maret School.
Students also test into the selective Science and Technology programs in the Prince George’s County Public Schools at Eleanor Roosevelt and C.H. Flowers High Schools.
