2024 Mandatory Summer Reinforcement Requirements
Rising 1st Graders through Rising 5th Graders
The summer months allow time to review and sharpen skills that have been taught over the course of the school year. This year, the completion of a Weekly Reader Summer Express Workbook will be required. These workbooks are being sent home with all rising kindergarteners through rising 5th graders.
At each level, the Weekly Reader Summer Express Workbook is a collection of colorful, fun-filled activity pages designed to reinforce skills through engaging activities. With more than 100 curriculum-based pages—arranged in a progressive, 10-week format—this book will help maintain your child’s skills and prepare them for next year.
All rising kindergarteners through rising 5th graders are required to complete this workbook and return it to school no later than Friday, September 8, 2023.
Teachers will select pages from this workbook that will be entered as first quarter assessments. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation. Please contact the school office if you have any questions about the summer workbook requirements

Language Arts: Your child’s summer learning language arts assignments are available on **Google Classroom this year. Rising 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade students have activities to complete on IXL. IXL is a comprehensive learning program offering unlimited LA/Literature practice problems in thousands of skills.
Mathematics: Your child’s summer learning mathematics assignments are available on **Google Classroom this year. Rising 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade students have activities to complete on IXL. IXL is a comprehensive learning program offering unlimited math practice problems in thousands of skills.
